My family has been using OraWellness products for some time. We’ve had great results with the HealThy Mouth [Blend] oil and Shine powder, but my teenage daughter was consistently getting called out by her orthodontist for heavy plaque. I do think we are all heavy plaque producers, but I have a feeling she was also not doing a great job of making sure to use both the oil AND a decent amount of powder every time she brushed.

Enter … Smile. I immediately ordered her a tube to take to summer camp, and she really liked it – so I switched her over to it permanently. Without really making any other changes, her plaque has reduced significantly. The orthodontist commented to me at her last appointment how much better her hygiene was!

Where to start?!

Wow! We couldn’t be more grateful to discovering Ora Wellness.

After a dental visit for my 7 year old, they pointed out a “dot” on his routine x-ray. They said it could be a potential cavity. I opted to wait six months and take another x-ray at his next appointment.

After discussing with our sacral cranial therapist, she strongly recommended I switch from toothpaste (we were using a natural, fluoride-free kind) to Ora Wellness. My son and I dove in with both feet, eager to eradicate this potential cavity naturally.

I just found out one of the reasons I struggled with cavities for years: I have an autoimmune disease which causes dry mouth, and was depleted by stress and further health issues.

I ended up with 11 cavities a few years ago despite great oral hygiene. I finally ordered many of your products at that time, including several containers of Shine.

Within 3 months, 10 of the cavities were gone and only the oldest deepest one needed a filling. The hygienist thought I must have had those cavities filled elsewhere as they were gone.

I have continued to use your products and in the 3 years since then, have no new cavities, continued great gum health and very little plaque at my dental visits.

I love the smooth feel of the oil blend on my teeth, and it feels good to know that I can prevent cavities despite this autoimmune condition. Thank you!

While we know your products solved my problem and the question was rhetorical anyway, in case you want more info as proof the dentist did not misdiagnose, here are some more details (the whole story):

I had gone to one dentist from 2014 to 2018 with Xrays and yearly dental exams showing 10, then 11 cavities, consistently every year. I was reluctant to get that many fillings so I worked hard to try to improve the situation myself. It didn’t work.

I ordered your products and used Shine and Brushing Blend. After 3 months of using Shine, I got Xrays, Cone Beam scan and exam at completely different dental office, where they compared previous Xrays and dental records. They couldn’t explain where 10 of the cavities went and they assumed I had got them filled elsewhere. I then had only the one deepest oldest cavity filled.

I considered keeping copies of my before and after Xrays as proof, but the dentist said that even old/healed cavities can show up as similar dark spots, so it wasn’t worth bothering.

Since 2018, I have had no new cavities and my gums have improved. Very little plaque and only 1-3mm pockets, with lots of 1mm in 2023. The experienced hygienist said they hadn’t seen gums this good at the office in years!

 

November 2023 UPDATE:

I’ve shared my big success already, and have some little updates. (Since 2018, your Shine powder healed my 10 cavities in 3 months and has kept them away since, and your Brushing Blend reduced my gum pockets to 1-3mm, the best gums the hygienist had seen in years!)

I keep hearing from people that my teeth are so white and they want to know how I whiten my teeth. Yet I used to have translucent teeth that stain easily. I think your Shine powder strengthens my enamel to increase opaque whiteness and prevent staining. Maybe the brushing blend helps to clean well, too.

I realized when reading your email that I also use the oil blend for other things. When travelling, or for convenience, rather than have multiple essential oils on hand, I use the oil blend for bug bites, acne, sore throat, freshening up a hotel room/airplane/mask, and more.

It was 2016, I believe, that I first found you and the path of OraWellness. What a treasure your teaching and products have been to me.

Last month we had business in Mexico, and I had our dentist there examine my mouth and measure the gum pockets. He measured much more quickly than I have ever experienced before, generally 6-10 teeth before recording. At the end of the exam his measurements were primarily 2-2-2 mm. Five years ago they were predominantly 3’s, 4’s, and several 5’s.

I returned home and immediately booked a measurement appointment with my dentist office here in Canada. When corrected for pressure, they are 2’s, 1’s, and 3’s! Confirmation that my gum pockets have been filling in wonderfully over these 5 years. (NOTE: The dental hygienist here was new to the office. Like the dentist in Mexico, she measured more quickly than the previous hygienist ever had, recording after 4-6 teeth rather than 2-3. Her pressure was significantly stronger than either her predecessor or our Mexican dentist, and she advised that her numbers may not correlate precisely with theirs. In fact, they did…when reduced by 1 mm each.)

Now, I point out that I have not been using GPS (Gum Pocket Syringing) for the past year. I am generally proxy brushing with HealThy Mouth 1-2 times daily, and bass brushing with Shine and H2O2 only once a day. I drink mainly pure water. I frequently rinse my mouth out with water, and often proxy brush either with water or food grade H2O2 after sweets.

Dr. Armenta also assessed the plaque/tartar. He said there is no real tartar/calculus in my mouth, but some soft calculus. There are 2 prior composite fillings that have failed over the past year, which he advised me not to fill or crown. Of course he recommended a cleaning, and as I wanted to leave some money in his pocket I agreed. He gave me the first dental cleaning I’ve had in nearly 45 years, and remarked that it was easy.

My local hygienist informed me that, as I recall, there is “slightly crusty calculus” below the gum line which she says will inhibit gum reattachment to the teeth. (No notes about locations or depths in her records, unfortunately.) The gum pocket measurements above suggest that this inhibition is either not happening or is negligible. However, GPS does seem called for.

That’s my update report for you, for OraWellness, and for my own records. It’s the truth, and I am indebted to you.

I will say this, we have run out of powder about a month ago and had to resort back to western toothpaste. Our whole family have noticed straight away that our teeth aren’t getting as clean from the genetic brand of toothpaste. Plaque has built up and breaths stink even though our brushing hasn’t changed.
