How do I use the Healthy Mouth Blend?

There are several different ways to use the HealThy Mouth Blend. We’ll list them here from most common, to least common. Choose the method(s) that best fit your needs.

1. Brushing
   You can use HealThy Mouth Blend by itself or in addition to your regular toothpaste or tooth powder. Apply 2 or 3 drops of HealThy Mouth Blend to your toothbrush and brush as usual. Remember, the bacteria that cause gum disease can double their numbers every 20 minutes! For best results, disrupt their colonies regularly by brushing for at least 2 minutes, twice daily, using the HealThy Mouth Blend.
2. Flossing
   To supercharge your floss, coat it with the HealThy Mouth Blend. Here’s how: place a drop of Blend on your index finger, put the beginning of your floss string in it, lightly pinch the floss between your index finger and thumb, and pull the rest of the floss string through the oil that’s between your pinched fingers. Flossing with the HealThy Mouth Blend helps deliver the formula’s balancing power even deeper into the gum pockets. This is beneficial throughout the mouth, but especially between molars, where it’s easiest for gum disease to set in.
3. Eliminate chronic bad breath
   To eliminate chronic bad breath, we highly encourage users to use a tongue cleaner and then brush their tongue with the HealThy Mouth Blend. This freshens breath by removing stinky biofilms and by addressing the thug bugs that created the biofilms in the first place. 4. As a mouthwash
   Many mouthwashes on the market contain chemicals like alcohol, which can indirectly contribute to gum disease by drying out mucous membranes in the mouth. In contrast, our HealThy Mouth Blend helps promote saliva production, which is beneficial for maintaining a healthier oral ecology.
   Simply place 1 or 2 drops of HealThy Mouth Blend in a small amount of water, and swish. It’s a quick and easy way to reduce the numbers of thug bugs in the mouth, freshen breath, and increase saliva production.
5. Soothe areas of discomfort & support recovery
   Through the years, our community has shared that applying the Blend to canker sores, cold sores, abscesses, and sensitive teeth has eased their discomfort and helped speed up the body’s natural recovery process. Simply add a drop of HealThy Mouth Blend to a clean finger and gently massage it into that area.
6. Boost your oil pulling practice
   Try adding a drop or two of the HealThy Mouth Blend to your oil pulling practice. This will leave your mouth feeling nice and fresh afterwards.

Do I use the HealThy Mouth Blend with a paste or as a standalone product?

As you saw in our video, there are lots of ways to use the Blend: choose your adventure! 🙂

Our HealThy Mouth Blend can be used WITH your normal toothpaste, INSTEAD of toothpaste, with some baking soda (or tooth powder) to offer some (gently) abrasive polishers, with organic coconut oil (yum!), or with homemade toothpaste. Do I need to rinse after using the HealThy Mouth Blend? Is it safe to swallow?

Plant essences are powerful compounds, and we recommend that we all respect this power. We have personally swallowed the HealThy Mouth Blend many times and found no harm from it. But since the HealThy Mouth Blend was formulated to help the mouth, we find it wise to spit after using the Blend.

However, it’s up to you to choose whether or not to rinse after using the HealThy Mouth Blend. Since the ingredients are simply organic essential oils in a base of certified organic carrier oil, there is no need to rinse.

Does the HealThy Mouth Blend kill the ‘good bugs’ too?

The path to optimal oral health sometimes requires that we ‘rebalance’ the populations of microbes in our mouths. 98% of Americans have some form of active oral disease, which means that most of us have mouths where disease-causing microbes are running the show. In these cases, the path to optimal oral health requires action to create a healthy environment.

While we chose the ingredients in our HealThy Mouth Blend based on their ability to target specific ‘thug bugs’ that are implicated with gum disease and tooth decay, other microbes are affected too. The good news is that our bodies have a natural ability to repopulate the good guys via saliva.

How long does one bottle last?

One bottle of HealThy Mouth Blend is 1/2 ounce (15ml), and contains approximately 452 drops (give or take a few drops).

One bottle generally lasts one person 2­ to 3 months, but exactly how long a bottle lasts varies, as it’s based on how many drops are used each time and how many different ways you’re using it (brushing, flossing, swishing, etc.).

One young family that was on a tight budget once told us that they stretched a single bottle to make it last 6 months for their whole family!
