Should I brush my teeth with MCHA (microcrystalline hydroxyapatite) only, or should I mix it with other ingredients and/or products? Can I remineralize my teeth by brushing with MCHA by itself?

If the goal is to remineralize teeth, we would definitely brush with MCHA, and we might also consider including xylitol with it, because it works synergistically with hydroxyapatite to further boost remineralization between teeth.

However, it’s really up to you! Our DIY tooth powder recipe contains suggested ingredients and tells you the purpose of each one, and it’s totally customizable.

Whether you decide to use only MCHA, or to include it in a tooth powder recipe, we suggest using it at every brushing. Also, in case it’s helpful to know, allowing MCHA to sit on your teeth gives it more time to support remineralization.

Our resource, Is the key to greater oral health already in your mouth? has a section in it called, “Mouth Probiotics,” that shares a powerful strategy that can help naturally remineralize your teeth. In addition to (or instead of) brushing with MCHA, you can use the same technique to swish MCHA with your saliva.

Some customers swish with MCHA for several minutes.

We encourage you to experiment using different strategies and frequency of use to see which works best for you. 🙂
