Really great question!
When we first created the HealThy Mouth Blend, our intent was to make a product to help others avoid gum disease from advancing to the point where they would need deeper interventions like what we teach with our HealThy Mouth System.
You see, the organic plant essences in our HealThy Mouth Blend are fabulous to help manage one’s oral flora and keep hoodlum microbes from dominating one’s mouth.
Then we started hearing that the HealThy Mouth Blend was helping customers address active decay.
It makes sense because the organic compounds from the plants in the formula help keep the hoodlum bugs associated with tooth decay from being able to attach themselves as well to the tooth to do their dirty work.
So when we turned our attention toward addressing tooth decay and the resulting creation of Shine, we wanted to create a product that would support the body’s natural ability to remineralize the teeth. You see, our bodies remineralize our teeth all the time, provided they have the necessary conditions for minerals to be deposited back into our teeth.
With these back stories shared, let’s answer this question directly.
Shine doesn’t replace the HealThy Mouth Blend, Shine complements the HealThy Mouth Blend.
Shine is a different tool in one’s toolkit. Just like a carpenter needs multiple tools, navigating the path to optimal oral health requires that we have different tools and the knowledge of how to use them.
We already do this after all with a toothbrush and floss, or toothpaste and mouth wash.
The HealThy Mouth Blend helps rebalance what we call the ‘oral flora’, the oral microbiome in our mouths. When gum disease or tooth decay are rampant, the oral flora is out of balance. The HealThy Mouth Blend helps to rebalance the oral flora.
OraWellness Shine then helps to remineralize the teeth. Our teeth lose minerals all the time from consuming acidic foods/drinks, from the bugs implicated with tooth decay, even from brushing too hard. Shine provides the body with more of the raw materials necessary to support the body’s natural remineralization mechanisms.
