Is the cinnamon oil in Cinnamon Shine an essential oil or some other kind of oil?

Broadly speaking, essential oils are concentrated plant extracts. But, not all plant oils are essential oils.

“Fixed oils”, also known as “carrier oils”, are extracted from fatty parts of plants, like nuts and seeds. These oils have a thicker consistency, they do not evaporate, and while they can be extracted through pressing, they are sometimes extracted using carbon dioxide, solvents, or other chemical means.

On the other hand, an essential oil is an oil that is extracted from aromatic plant matter (like leaves, bark, flowers, resin, or roots). Essential oils have a thinner, more watery consistency, they have a concentrated aroma, and they’re volatile, meaning they do evaporate. They tend to be created through processes like cold pressing or steam distillation.

The cinnamon oil in our Cinnamon Shine is an essential oil that’s either steam distilled or cold pressed.
