So what’s different about the BrushEco design?
There are some general design differences with BrushEco compared to other toothbrushes on the market.
1. Rounded bristle tips
Many toothbrushes on the market have rough cut bristle tips which can irritate sensitive gum tissue and actually cause damage to our teeth. Each BrushEco bristle is polished round providing you a gentle way to balance your oral flora and be a good conductor of the ‘symphony of microbes’ in your mouth.
2. Shorter handle
The shorter handle on both BrushEco designs forces the user to hold the toothbrush with fingertips rather than grasping the toothbrush in a full fist. Holding the toothbrush in the fingertips rather than a full fist helps us consciously brush our teeth and not ‘zombie brush’ and cause harm.
3. More spaced out bristle tufts
Following the designs of the toothbrush Dr Bass created, BrushEco bristle tufts are more spaced out. While both designs provide more space, this is particularly true for the 3 row BrushEco, which is designed exactly after the Dr Bass toothbrush. Having the bristle tufts more spaced out provides the user the ability to apply the Bass brushing technique (see video below) to disrupt and disorganize the thug bugs implicated with gum disease.
BrushEco comes in 2 different designs, 3 and 4 rows
Part of empowered oral care is realizing that there are different jobs involved with caring for our oral health. For example, you probably already know that flossing is a very helpful habit (provided you floss consciously).
When it comes to brushing, we’ve learned that different regions of brushing our teeth require different techniques.
And these different techniques are optimized with different tools.
Namely, to optimally clean the gum line (and stop gum disease from progressing), we apply the Bass brushing technique. And to clean the surfaces of our teeth, we apply what we call the ‘Shoeshine brushing technique’. You’ll find video tutorials that detail each of these brushing techniques below.
The 3 row BrushEco design is ideal to optimally disrupt and disorganize the thug bugs implicated with gum disease by applying the Bass brushing technique. Being more spaced out, the bristle tufts of our 3 row BrushEco provide us the ideal tool to wiggle the bristles into the gum line to disrupt and disorganize the thug bugs implicated with gum disease.
The 4 row BrushEco design has the same shortened handle and rounded bristle tips, but the bristle tufts are stacked a bit closer together. This provides us a more efficient tool for cleaning all the surfaces of our teeth via the Shoeshine brushing technique.

It’s true, our toothbrushes can become petri dishes for thug bugs. Here’s a link to an article that explores several techniques how you can make sure your BrushEco is clean and not harboring any thug bugs.
